I'm OK is a personal safety check-in app from Asian Sparrow LLC. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and how users can control or delete their data.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide in the app, including your name, email address, phone number, trusted contact names, trusted contact phone numbers or email addresses, check-in schedules, alert preferences, consent records, and account settings.
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic account information such as your name, email address, provider profile identifier, and profile picture when provided by the sign-in provider. If you choose to use purchases, subscription status is processed through Apple App Store in-app purchase, Google Play Billing, and RevenueCat as applicable for your device.
The app may collect device and usage information needed to run the app, diagnose problems, provide notifications, and support account security. Location is collected only if you enable location sharing for safety alerts or use a feature that requires your current location.
How We Use Information
- To provide safety check-ins, reminders, and missed check-in alerts.
- To let you add, manage, and notify trusted contacts.
- To authenticate your account and protect app access.
- To process subscriptions and restore purchases.
- To show ads to free-tier users through Google AdMob.
- To provide support, maintain reliability, and improve the app.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. When you miss a check-in or trigger an alert, the app may share relevant alert details, including your name, status, message, and optionally your location, with the trusted contacts you selected. Trusted contacts must accept an invitation before receiving alerts.
We use service providers to operate the app, including Firebase for authentication and cloud services, Apple App Store in-app purchase, Google Play Billing, and RevenueCat for subscriptions, Google AdMob for ads, and notification providers for SMS or email alerts when those features are configured. These services may process information only as needed to provide their services.
Permissions
Contacts permission is used only when you choose to import a trusted contact. Notification permission is used for reminders and alert status updates. Location permission is used only for location-enabled safety alerts. You can change app permissions in your device settings.
Data Retention and Deletion
Account data is kept while your account is active. Check-in and alert history may be retained for app functionality and audit transparency. You can export or delete your app data from the app's account settings. You may also request help by emailing us.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including encrypted transmission where supported. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Emergency Services Disclaimer
I'm OK is not an emergency service and does not replace calling local emergency numbers such as 911, 999, or 112. In a life-threatening emergency, always contact local emergency services directly.
